Flight Attendant Jobs

Our Flight Attendants work together with their fellow crew members to ensure the safety of passengers while providing the highest levels of professionalism and customer service. Mesa Airlines operates Canadair Regional Jets (CRJ700/900) for American Airlines/US Airways and United and Embraer E175s for United. These are larger regional aircraft staffed by a team of two flight attendants. This position is an excellent opportunity to join the exciting aviation industry.

Job Requirements
To be considered for the position, candidates must demonstrate the following:

Must possess a positive professional attitude while demonstrating a high level of customer service
- Must be a minimum of 19 years of age
- Willing and able to relocate to any assigned base at your own expense (Mesa does not provide moving expenses to ANY base)
- Pass an FAA 10 year (plus) background and fingerprinting check
- Pass initial and ongoing drug screening
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Able to obtain a Passport prior to attending a training class
- Possess strong verbal communication skills while speaking, reading and writing English fluently
- U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in U.S as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
- Must have complete use of the following four senses; smell, hearing, touch, and sight
- Must not exceed a corrected vision of 20/40
- Maximum height 6 feet, minimum height 4'11" without shoes (for safety reasons within the scope of the cabin (will be measured))
- Must be well groomed, practice good hygiene and proper etiquette
- Must be physically fit, and have the ability to walk and fit comfortably down the aisle of the aircraft while facing forward and fit passably in the FA jumpseat without modification or seatbelt extension, and capable of pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, squatting, walking and working for periods up to 14-16 hours per day
- Perform all safety related functions and job requirements including, but not limited to; lifting a minimum of 40 pounds to shoulder height, performing emergency evacuations over aircraft wing(s), evacuating through aircraft exit doors without stairs and completing all FAA mandated safety related demonstrations
- Minimum 2 years of Customer service background preferred
- Available to be away from base for up to 6 continuous days
- Must be able to make multiple entries and exits to all countries serviced by Mesa Airlines; including Canada which has strict inadmissible class/status that includes no convictions of a DWI/DUI. If you have been on probation in the last ten years or have more than one conviction, you must complete the Canadian Criminal Rehabilitation process prior to being considered for the position
- Must adhere to uniform standards and guidelines, with no visible tattoos and/or body piercings. No gauges allowed
- Must be flexible, dependable, and work well with others supervised and unsupervised
- Willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
- An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of all phases of training, including your IOE, in order to be a Flight Attendant for Mesa Airlines
Essential Functions

Greet, direct passengers to assigned seats and provide a high level of customer service
- Explain the use of safety equipment to all passengers
- Serve, prepare meals and beverages as applicable
- Assist passengers to store carry-on luggage, garments, under-seat storage, etc.
- Verify passengers have complied with all Federal Aviation Regulations prior to take off and landing
- Administer first aide to passengers in distress, when needed
- Collect money for meals and beverages
- Ability to prepare reports, verify passenger boarding tickets and irregularities, meal and beverage inventories, maintain cleanliness of
- AC cabin and report lost and found articles
- Make all safety required announcements while continuing to observe safety in the cabin
- Prepare to evacuate the aircraft in the event of an emergency situation
- Maintain a professional image for Mesa Airlines

Salary Compensation
Our starting rate for a Flight Attendant is $15.91 per flight hour. The average earnings for a Flight Attendant in the first year of employment is approximately $22,000.
Bases
The location for this position is based on the operational needs of the company and seniority. New hires will be assigned to one of the below bases. Current bases are as follows and are subject to change:

- DFW (Dallas, TX)
- IAD (Washington-Dulles)
- IAH (Houston, TX)
Training
Candidates selected for training will be required to successfully complete a tuition free training class for up to 3-6 weeks in Phoenix, AZ in order to be employed as a Flight Attendant by Mesa Airlines. Applicants will be eligible for the Flight Attendant position after successful completion of their IOE (initial operating experience of the AC) and all other phases of training.
